The truth is that she was born without a left hand and that is what makes her different. However, this isn't the only aspect that makes her unique. Lockhart's Instagram account doesn't ignore the fact that she has a disability. It also doesn't make it a point to emphasize her disability. It's a message. The message? That we are all multifaceted, and that our identities and physical self aren't as appear. Lockhart speaks through video from Nashville. "I do not intend to let it define my life. I don't want to be only identified as a specialist in disability. And it doesn't affect my everyday life. I go about every day as normal and have found my own way to adjust to things. However, I also consider it to be a vital component of my life. Lockhart is a huge example to other women in the area of self-acceptance. Yet, she confesses to going through periods of feeling uneasy about her appearance as well as wearing clothes that showed her arms. She wears whatever she wants and posts photos of herself in the outfits she wears on social media. Self-love for her was an extended process. However, that is common for anyone who has insecurities. It's my opinion that having those with you who understand you and can see the depths of your soul is vital since they'll be those who will remind you what you worried about?
