Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in Puy-de-Domme France on 8 August 1976. She was oldest child of four. The actress was inspired by her parents, a dentist and teacher and both of them were teachers. They encouraged her to pursue her passion for acting. This was in contrast with her previous desire to be a primatologist due to the fact that she loved monkeys. She rose to prominence as a child actress quickly and enjoyed great popularity and success. The beginning of her career came at the age of 1999 when she started acting professionally. Following her studies Tautou took part in the French TV show that scouts talent Jeunes Premiers. Though she was a student at the Institut Catholique de Paris and attended church in her youth Tautou is now averse to her religious upbringing and has stated that she's not Catholic. As well as her acting profession she also pursued a modelling career. Also, she is the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and often called The Chanel Muse. Her photography is also a obsession and she was recently shown her work at the Arles festival under the name Superficial. Photography of her is primarily focused on celebrity and fame, and then turns her camera to those who scrutinized her after her meteoric rise to fame as Amelie and a series of self-portraits. Audrey Tautou's very first major part, playing Amelie Poulain's main actress in Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie poulain, earned the actress international fame. Amelie has been an international box office success and recognized at many awards shows around the world. Amelie was the highest-rated film that is French-speak in the US. The film's success led to a huge increase in production. Tautou was later cast in many films including British dramatics, such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Long Sunday of fiancailles. Tautou also appeared alongside Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
