Nadia Comaneci - (born on 12th November, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej / Now Onesti, Romania), Romanian gymnast. First gymnast in history to earn a 10. competing in the Olympics. Bela Karalyi was introduced to Comaneci at the age of six. Later, she would become Romania's gymnastics coach. Comaneci was the first to compete for time in the 1969 national junior championships. She finished 13th. In the following year, she won the title of champion. In 1972, during an event for communist-controlled countries' juniors before the Olympics, she won three gold medals. Then in 1973 and '74 she was the overall junior champion. In 1975, she won four golds and one silver medal in her debut senior international competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European Champion. In 1976, she was the first person in the world to use a backwards-double salto for a dismount off parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was a teen Carol Wayne started working in the entertainment industry performing as a figure skater. Along with her twin brother Nina Wayne she was part of the traveling show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a United States citizen, born on the 6th of September 1942, in Chicago, Illinois. Carol started her career as an entertainer in her teens. Her first job was as a figure skater, performing alongside her twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show known as Ice Capades. The show featured dramatic ice skating shows.
